b'CATHOLIC CULTURE Department Mission Statement: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School strives to form not only scholars, but saints. The mission of the Chaplain, in partnership with the schools administration, faculty, and staff, is to develop and advance a school culture of reverence, faith, service, sacraments, and prayer which will foster and nurture an intimate, personal relationship between our students and our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Holy Mother Church. Objectives: To encourage participation in the sacraments of the Catholic Church .Action Steps: Instruction given in Theology classes on Confession and the Eucharist. Daily availability of the Sacrament of Confession in the Chaplains Office. Daily celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the St. Bernadette Chapel. Celebration of Holy Mass with athletic teams and other school clubs. Coordination with the Theology Department for confessions to be heard during class times by the Chaplain and local parish priests for the seasons of Advent and Lent. Celebrate School Mass in the AAC on a monthly basis. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for students seeking full sacramental initiation in the Roman Catholic Church. Senior Class Mass at St. Patricks CathedralTo foster an atmosphere of prayer . Action Steps: Provide faculty with relevant information pertaining to various saints and liturgical feasts and seasons celebrated by the Catholic Church. Beautify and maintain the St. Bernadette Chapel. Eucharistic Adoration in the St. Bernadette Chapel Re-establish a regular meeting time for students and faculty to pray the Rosary together in the St. Bernadette Chapel.'
