A member of the Lourdes community dating back to 1980, Sister Nancy assisted in numerous roles from Administrative Assistant to the Principal to organizing and running the bookstore until her retirement in 2012. In December of 2012, Principal, John Lagiovane dedicated the school library in her honor, naming it the Sr. Nancy Moroney, O.P. Library for her over 30 years of dedicated service to Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

Always entering the building with a smile, Sister is best remembered for her attention to detail and quick wit. In her early years and long before computers, she would describe how she put together the entire academic schedule with the use of paper clips. Then Principal Bellew would often remark that she was 98% perfect!

In her later years, Sister ran the school bookstore and was always looking for ways to connect with the students. Along with the Finance Office, she would coordinate our Book Sale Day at the start of each school year.

In 2019, Sister Nancy celebrated her 75th Jubilee as a Dominican Sister.

We send our deepest condolences to Sister Nancy’s family and the Dominican Sisters of Hope Community. Thank you Sister Nancy for your deep commitment to our Lourdes Community and service to Catholic education. You will forever be remembered for your intellect, dedication, friendly smile, and willingness for a “good chat”.

Donations in Sister’s memory can be made to the Dominican Sisters of Hope Development Office, 299 North Highland Ave, Ossining, NY 10562.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace and in love. Amen.
