We are saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Ann Sakac, OP. We send our prayers and condolences to theDominican Sisters of HopeandMount Saint Mary Collegecommunities as they mourn her loss and celebrate her incredible life.
Did you know that Sister Ann was one of the founding sisters of Lourdes? Known as Sister John Mary at that time, many of our alumni remember her as an excellent English teacher and mentor. It was no surprise that she went on to live an outstanding life of service most notably as President of MSMC for 32 years. We were proud to welcome Sister Ann back to Lourdes to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in 2009 and again in 2011 when she accepted the Legion of Honor Award on behalf of the Dominican Sisters of Hope.
