If you have two web browsers installed, you can use one for school and one for your personal Google email account. You can also use incognito or private mode if you do not want to keep a record of your school email account on the device you are using or only have one web browser installed.
There are Canvas apps for iOS and Android and they are a great resource for receiving notifications when activity occurs in a course.
