Our Lady of Lourdes

HIGH SCHOOL, Poughkeepsie, NY

President’s Welcome

“We aim at something better: we want to educate them, to instruct them in their duty, to teach them to practice it, to give them a Christian spirit and attitudes and to form them to religious habits and the virtues possessed by a good Christian and a good citizen.’”
~ Marcellin Champagnat

For over 60 years, Our Lady of Lourdes High School has educated young men and women preparing them for their futures in college and life. A rigorous and inspiring education paired with daily opportunities for spiritual development remains our top priority. Those of us whose life work has been in Catholic education consider the job we do a vocation. We view the intellectual development of a young person embedded within a school climate that fosters a strong ethical and moral foundation as the necessary blueprint for building the Kingdom of God here on earth. We also see it as necessary for producing bright and productive future leaders for our country.

Here at Lourdes, we foster an important partnership among administration, faculty, students, and parents, which provides students with the best opportunities to reach their goals. I am so blessed to lead such dedicated people who are truly invested in the mission of Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

The benefits of a Lourdes education remain unique to each and every student.  All students are academically challenged with a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum and exposed to clear value systems rooted in morality, dignity, and respect.

There is always something wonderful happening on the Lourdes campus. From inspiring classroom activities, an extensive selection of clubs, competitive sports teams, and community service programs, Lourdes is filled with a unique spirit as there is truly a place for everyone here. At Lourdes, we continually stretch our limits to become all God calls us to be. So many opportunities abound here, and our students are motivated to take advantage of all we offer.

I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about our programs and curriculum, our faculty and staff, and our vibrant school community. If you would like to learn more or schedule a visit to Lourdes, I invite you to contact our admissions office.

Thank you for visiting our site. Please know that we are a community entrenched in daily prayer for one another, the entire Lourdes community past and present, the world, and especially for those who have no one to pray for them. I ask that you please pray for us and for all Catholic schools.

May God continue to bless our entire Lourdes community!

Faithfully,

Catherine B. Merryman
President
